Today we live in a society where people think that the person who is suffering from Mental Illness is called Mad. But MENTAL ILLNESS IS NOT MADNESS.

A report of WHO says that from four out of one people in the world are suffering from Mental Sickness. And do suicide cause of Depression. Now Mental Illness is becoming a Global Epidemic.

Do you remember the underrated dialogue of 3 Idiots, Why we can't invent the machine for measuring our Mental Pressure? A fact is that we can recognize the Physical Sickness of people but we can't measure someone's mental health.
 
In this article, we will talk about Mental Illness. Depression is often viewed as the “common cold” of mental disorders because it is so prevalent in our lives. The lifetime prevalence of depression suggests that more than 1 in 9 people could be diagnosed with the disorder at one point in their lives. And unlike some other mental disorders, depression affects virtually every aspect of what you do and how you interact with others. 


Depression is indeed a serious mental disorder, it is no more serious than most other mental disorders. Having a mental disorder doesn’t mean you’re “mad,” it just means you have a concern that is negatively impacting how you live your life. Depression can strike anyone, at any time, whether you’re “weak” or strong, it knows no bounds.

In most cases, depression is not just ordinary sadness or grief over a loss. If it were ordinary sadness or grief, most people would feel better just over time. In depression. Depression is overwhelming feelings of sadness and hopelessness, every day, for no reason whatsoever. Most people with depression have little weakness or no motivation, nor energy and have serious sleeping problems. And it’s just not for one day, it’s for weeks or months on end, with no end in sight. Sometimes it makes a person to end their life.
Depression is like an intellectual issue, it does not discriminate based upon age, gender, and personality. In truth, young, adults, and teenagers grapple with depression simply as a good deal as seniors do. Some of the arena's most successful people have also had to deal with depression, humans together with Abraham LincoIn, Sir Isaac Newton, Stephen Hawking, and Charles Darwin. So being a loser isn't a prerequisite to being depressed.

           Counseling is only for mad people, you’re not mad

Because of the stigma that surrounds mental illness many people choose to go untreated. Lack of professional care may sometimes lead to self-medicating, resulting in drug and alcohol addiction on top of mental illness.
      
    It's OKAY to feel SAD, It's OKAY to treat your MENTAL ILLNESS

People often feel helpless when they see their loved ones struggling with depression. The most important thing you can do is to be patient, depression is a difficult illness to overcome. Because of a lack of motivation and hopelessness is a common symptom among the depressed, it may take a long time to see any improvement in mood. Listen to them, provide positive reinforcement, and educate yourself on depression so you can gain a better understanding of the battle that your loved one is fighting. Above all else, encourage your loved one to seek professional help. Being a good friend or family member is not a sufficient replacement for the help provided by a therapist or psychiatrist. Don’t minimize the warning signs, depression can have lethal consequences. It’s better to risk making your loved one angry at you for erring on the side of caution rather than losing him forever.

So don't hesitate to talk about your mental health. MENTAL ILLNESS IS NOT MADNESS

Mental Health is a serious issue. Don't take it for granted.
